In her first three years, Gracie went from 2 lbs. 10 oz to a charming and determined little girl. She has been poked, prodded, on oxygen, undergone surgery and MRI’s, using adaptive equipment, and needing to go to appointment after appointment. Cerebral Palsy makes it hard for her to play with her twin brother and sister, but it will not keep her down! She keeps going, keeps smiling, dancing and singing. Her mom has no idea how she does it. Gracie is extremely smart, funny, strong, and determined without hesitation. Gracie’s Dream is to go to the Florida theme parks with her family.

Ibrahima (his friends and family call him Ibu) had complications at birth and was enrolled into an early intervention program at 2 months. At 2 years, he was diagnosed as having cerebral palsy quadriplegia because all four of his extremities are affected. Ibrahima does have use of his left arm. He is able to bear weight on his legs, but he cannot take steps without assistance. Ibrahima needs assistance with all activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and mobility. He uses an electric wheelchair to get around, which he loves and is not happy when it’s in need of repair. Ibrahim is thoughtful, likes joking around and laughing with family and friends, really loves playing video games, playing with paint, and being in water in the summertime. Ibrahim would like to visit Disney World as his Dream because he has never visited Disney, and its reputation precedes itself as being an incredible resort and park with lots of fun things to do for all ages. Ibrahim would be grateful to go, and is hopeful to have the experience.

Tarique was born with cerebral palsy. His mom noticed as soon as he was born that there was something not quite right. He was having seizures, he had strabismus in both eyes, and it was hard for him to nurse or take a bottle. The doctors said he was OK and sent him and his parents’ home. Tarique continued to have small mal seizures. He would stop breathing and would vomit formula from his nose and mouth. After going back and forth to the doctor’s, his parents received a diagnosis when he was two years old. The family moved to Indianapolis for better care. Since moving, Tarique’s condition got worse. He now has scoliosis, hip dislocation, and spasticity in his legs. Tarique, together with his family, has been in and out of the hospital since he was born, causing his mom to have to stop working and take care of him full time. The family has limited resources and is not able to just go out and have fun. While Tarique is non-verbal, he expresses himself by his facial expressions. Tarique really loves to play in water. He often brings joy to the people he encounters through his contagious smile and laugh. Tarique’s Dream is for a shopping spree to buy the clothes and shoes he needs. Hello! My name is Timothy. I have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, cognitive impairment, and more. I really enjoyed WWE wrestling, and I’ve loved Spider-Man since I was very young. I like to watch WWE wrestling and Spider-Man and other wrestling shows on YouTube. I just recently watched the new Avengers, and I love the movie! I spend a lot of time by myself and with my wrestlers. When I try to make friends, people just don’t understand me. So sometimes for me, I just melt down because people don’t understand what I’m saying or they don’t understand how I feel or I’m not understanding something. I do have two brothers that spend time with me, and I also have a sister, all of whom do understand me. I’m having a very hard time in school. I cannot seem to progress at all due to my impairments. I cannot tie my shoes, and I always wear pull-up clothes because buttons sometimes give me sensory issues. I just can’t button very good yet. It is really hard for me to make friends and keep them just because I feel like if they don’t understand me so I would just rather be by myself sometimes. Sometimes people make fun of me because I have braces. I often ask my mom and my dad why my feet are crooked. I do have to use a wheelchair if I have to go long places because my feet do hurt. At recess I do have one friend, and she reads to me a lot as I do have dyslexia and dysgraphia. I have selected a Disney dream because I just think it would be really awesome! Maybe, just maybe, I could meet Spider-Man and some of the other Marvel Heroes. I’ve always always loved Spider-Man, and I think it would be really great to meet him. I would also like to see Mickey and do some of the water rides. I think I would have a wonderful time during this, and I sure hope that I can get there someday soon. Thank you for reading my story. God bless you all.

Tyrese has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Playing basketball is one of Tyrese’s favorite things to do. He plays basketball at home on a small court with his dad. Tyrese is hoping to be a basketball player when he grows up. Tyrese and his family feel that although his diagnosis affects his walking, it never stops him from playing, trying every day to get stronger, or having Dreams. Tyrese’s Dream is to go to the Florida theme parks. He chose this Dream because he feels it gives him a chance to enjoy himself, have fun just being a kid, and show that with his abilities, he can still get around rather than having people look at him for his disability. Tyrese also says that having this Dream Come True gives him hope that one day, his dream of walking and becoming a basketball player will come true as well.
